The sixteenth Vice-Chancellor of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Professor Yogesh Singh, is currently the Director of Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, New Delhi. He has qualified with M.Tech. and Ph.D. (Computer Engineering) degrees from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra. He is a member of the General Council of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) since March, 2012. He has been an independent Director since May, 2013 of Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL); a company promoted by Government of Gujarat. Prof. Singh has also worked as Chairman, Central Regional Committee, All India Council for Technical Education, Bhopal (covering states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Gujarat) from December 2011 to May 2014. Before he joined The M. S. University of Baroda, he was Professor in the University School of Information Technology, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, where he also served as Dean, (2001-2006), Controller of Examinations (2006-2011), Director Student's Welfare (2006-2009), and University Proctor (2001-2006) . He has also been the member of various Search Committees for the appointment of Vice-Chancellors. With a sustained track record of quality teaching and innovations in the field of Computer Engineering, he has to his credit excellent research contributions which include 250 publications/presentations in reputed National / International Journals and Conferences, and his 'h' index is 22 and Citation is 1565 as reported by Google Scholar. He has authored many books, and mentored 22 Ph.D. scholars. He received 'Best Research Award' in Engineering and Technology from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi (2010). During his tenure in MSU, many reforms, both Academic and Administrative were initiated. He instated various cells and departments which facilitated visibility and lend more academic credence to the University, as also helped established linkages and interface with industry. Availability of high speed internet, Wi-Fi connectivity in many of the Faculties and parts of the campus, Digital framework for Student Lifecycle Management, Workflow Management System, and HRMS were effectively introduced during his tenure. Among several other reforms, infrastructure and facilities for students, teachers and staff members were strengthened and new appointments on vacant posts across the University were done. By the end of Prof. Yogesh Singh's three and a half years tenure in MSU, the University had undergone a thorough revamp in all functional aspects, and stood suitably geared up further academic and infrastructural growth, as also for NAAC review and re-accreditation.
