About the Speaker
Professor Uttara Sahasrabuddhe teaches and pursues research in International Relations at the Department of Civics and Politics, University of Mumbai. Professor Sahasrabuddhe has published two books and several articles in journals, edited volumes and magazines. 
Professor Sahasrabuddhe is a Member of the Board of Supervisors in “Global India European Training Network” a Consortium of six European and six Indian institutions, a Horizon 2020 project funded by the European Commission. She is the Convener of the Subject Committee and Board of Editors in International Relations, for Marathi Vishwakosh, the encyclopedia project of the Government of Maharashtra. She was awarded the Asia Fellowship by the Asian Scholarship Foundation, Bangkok; and was affiliated as Visiting Fellow to the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, Jakarta, Indonesia, between December 2007 and May 2008. She was awarded the Collaborative Work Grant by the Asian Scholarship Foundation, Bangkok, for India-Indonesia Academic Dialogue during January-August 2010, for which she worked in collaboration with Professor Shankari Sundararaman (JNU, New Delhi) and the Centre for Strategic & International Studies, Jakarta, Indonesia. Professor Sahasrabuddhe was invited by the European Commission to Brussels, Belgium in April 2010, as an Evaluator for the 7th Framework Research Programme of the European Union. She was also invited by the Department of State, Government of USA, to attend the International Visitor Program in 2002, the theme of which was “Preventive Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution”.
Professor Sahasrabuddhe has been a Visiting Faculty to the Naval War College, Goa; the Army War College, Mhow; as well as the College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad. She has worked as a Member of “Subject Committee” in Civics at Maharashtra Rajya Pathyapustak Nirmitee Mandal, Pune.
