The Department of Clothing and Textiles offers a two year Masters programme which aims to equip students with necessary proficiencies by integrating theoretical and practical instructional methods. The major thrust areas of the department are Textiles and Costumes, Garment Production, Natural Dyes, Minor Fibers, Textile Science, Textile Finishes and Testing, Value addition, Weaving, Fashion and Textile Design, Computer Application etc. The highlights of the masters programme at the department are Internship, Elective courses based on areas of research and Dissertation which are an integral part of its curriculum. The department is sensitive to growing needs of institutes of higher education, industry and export market and thus strives to its best to meet the challenge by providing professionally trained individuals who display an effective combination of technical know-how, a flair for design and innovation and a clear understanding of various concepts of Textiles, Clothing and Fashion.
