About Department

The Department of Business Economics, established as an independent department under the Faculty of Commerce in 1972, is one of India's pioneering departments dedicated exclusively to Business Economics and the second university department in the country to specialise in this discipline. The Department imparts quality education in applied economics to more than 15,000 students enrolled in B.Com., M.Com., BBA, and Diploma programmes across five campuses of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Its academic programmes integrate theoretical knowledge with practical and policy-oriented applications to develop competent professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers capable of addressing contemporary economic and business challenges.
