Glorious Heritage 
The M S University of Baroda set up in 1949 was the dream project of the visionary ruler Sir Sayaji Rao Gaekwad  III. It is an internationally renowned University with about 35000 students drawn from all over the world. It is the only English Medium University in the State of Gujarat. The city of Vadodara, one of the fastest developing cities of the State, is recognized as a distinguished educational and cultural centre of the country. 

Faculty of Law 
The Faculty of Law, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda has been a premier law institute in Gujarat since the sixties. The varied academic talent of the faculty is capable to tackle the emerging legal trends. It offers various programmes like LL.B.(3 years) and LL.M (2 years) with specialisation in Business Law, Criminal Law, Constitution and Legal Order, Environment and Legal Order, Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation Practice, Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Practice and Ph. D. Programme. Under its auspices, the Faculty of Law has started the  Baroda School of Legal Studies (BSLS) which imparts Five Years Integrated Law Course. It also has a Centre for Intellectual Property Rights and Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution which conduct awarness Programmes.
 
It is believed that the academicians (students, teachers and research scholars),  lawyers and judges are the three pillars in the legal field. The Faculty of Law has contributed greatly in teaching and facilitating several eminent lawyers and judges whose contribution in the legal field can be witnessed in India and abroad. Many of our alumni impart knowledge to our students and share their experience with them as visiting faculties. The Faculty of Law understands the impact that lawyers have in the society and aims at teaching and training lawyers who are at the top of their field.
 
Globalization, liberalization and the information technology revolution have had a profound impact on law and legal institutions worldwide and in India. A rapidly growing global market in legal services and information has changed the structure of the legal profession in India as well. To answer this global need a new and totally innovative legal thinking is required. With this object in mind, Faculty of Law has given birth to Baroda School of Legal Studies(BSLS) to advance and disseminate learning and knowledge of law and to make law and legal process an efficient instrument of social development in 2005.
 
BSLS offers the best in terms of curriculum, teaching methods and skill development. This Programme offers English language and communication along with foreign languages like French and German and Indian languages like Hindi, Gujarati and Sanskrit to students to hone their language and communication skills. The Programme also offers papers on Law and Social Transformation, Information Technology Laws and Intellectual Property rights. We also offer papers related to Corporate Laws, like Corporate finance and Company Laws. The Faculty has courses on Arbitration and Professional Ethics. The Programme also offers papers on newer areas like Gender Studies and Feminist Jurisprudence.
 
This course aims to chisel out bright and brilliant lawyers out of raw teenagers. Baroda School of Legal Studies shall be imparting Five Years Integrated Law Degree Course, which shall aim at developing a new vision for legal education in India. Baroda School of Legal Studies aspires to become a centre of excellence in the legal education map of the world. ".
