A warm welcome at the Faculty of Law of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Baroda!! The Faculty of Law is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Faculty of Law of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is ranked by several agencies. The Faculty is in top 25 law schools (Forbes,2021), 1st Government law school in Gujarat (Week 2020, 2021) and ranked as 3rd Outstanding Law Schools of Excellence (CSR 2020, 2021). The Faculty of Law has been offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses designed to give students a firm grounding in legal knowledge. |
The Curriculum focuses both on theoretical aspects and honing the skills of the students by offering several practical skill based courses such as Internships, Project Works, visits to Central Jail, Courts, Moot Court, Training in Legal Aid, and Clinical courses such as Arbitration and Mediation, Drafting, Client Counselling and Research. The multifaceted academic talent of the Faculty is capable of tackling the emerging legal trends. The Faculty of Law has adequate digital infrastructure and teaching tools for online teaching. Also, a wide array of pedagogical approaches in teaching strengthens the outcome of the programme.
Our faculty is committed to providing good education to students through Classroom Teaching, Clinical Training, and Extracurricular activities ( Moot Court Competition, Atrangi –Cultural festival, Vox Legis - Publication by the students, Lux Et Veritas -National Law Festival etc and prepare them for holistic development to face the challenges and also to be the proud Ambassadors of Faculty of law. In addition the Visiting Faculty comprising of leading Advocates/Lawyers compliment regular teaching.
The Faculty of Law has established several Centres/Cell through which various activities are being conducted to enrich the students. Some of the Centres like Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, “Sayajirao Centre For Alternate Dispute Resolution, Research Cell, Legal Aid Clinic , Constitution Club contributes to the growth of the students.
The Vision of the Faculty is to become A Centre of Excellence in Legal Education by adopting a clinical approach and to prepare a cadre of outstanding practice - ready legal professionals to address the legal dimensions at National and Global levels. The Mission of the Faculty is to provide holistic learning experiences in legal education to produce skilled lawyers who can excel in various facets of the legal profession to cater to the needs of the society
