? The Department offers two streams for the M. Sc. (Family and Community Sciences) FN degree. These are:
? M. Sc. (Family and Community Sciences) in Foods and Nutrition
? FN (PHN) Public Health Nutrition
? FN (D) Dietetics
? For admission to M.Sc. (Family and Community Sciences) degree program in Foods and Nutrition, with specialization in Dietetics/Public Health Nutrition a student must have completed:
? B.Sc./ B.F.C.Sc. (Family and Community Sciences/Home) with Foods & Nutrition/ Dietetics / Public Health Nutrition/Food Science & Quality Control.
? B.Sc./ B.F.C.Sc. (Family and Community Sciences/Home) with Foods & Nutrition/ Dietetics / Public Health Nutrition/Food Science & Quality Control under NEP 3 years Bachelor’s or 4 years honors degree.
? B.F.C.Sc./ B.Sc. (Vocational) with specialization in Foods Science and Quality Control or Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics.
? Where Foods and Nutrition is not clearly mentioned in the qualifying as major UG degree the following criteria should be met for eligibility.
? Biochemistry along with 01 paper in each of the following areas.
? (1) PHN/Community Nutrition (2) Human Nutrition
? (3) Dietetics (4) Food Science & Nutrition
? B.F.C.Sc./B.Sc. as in above a or P.G. Diploma in Dietetics, P G Diploma in Applied Nutrition, P G Diploma in Food Service Management & P G Diploma in Public Health Nutrition from a recognized institution.
? Students graduated from 'Open Universities' recognized by University Grants Commission.
? Students scoring a minimum of 55% marks in the last qualifying exam i.e. UG / P G Diploma are eligible to apply for M.Sc. in Foods and Nutrition (Dietetics / PHN) degree program. Relaxation of 5% will be given to SC/ST category.
? Students with a 4-year Honours/Research degree as approved above can also enter the 2-year program or opt for a 1-year Master's. Students may exit after the first year with a Postgraduate Diploma, provided they fulfill the required credits.
? The final selection would be based on the following criteria:
? Marks/grades obtained at the qualifying examinations (50%)
? Entrance examination (50%)
? All India Merit list will be prepared based on the above-mentioned criteria along with GOG roster Guidelines.
