About Faculty

Faculty of Social Work, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda was founded in the post-Independence era on 15th March 1950. The foundation stone of the faculty was laid by the First Vice Chancellor of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Dr. (Smt.) Hansa Mehta. The faculty is one of the pioneering social work institutes, third in the chronological order of establishment in India. Since its inception the faculty has followed a generic approach to Social Work Education offering Master of Social Work as its flagship program.  In the Golden Jubilee year of the faculty during 1999, a full- fledged two year Master of Human Resource Management program was introduced to respond to the growing needs of the business and social sector in managing its Human Resources.
