Dr. Manoj Soni born on February 17, 1965, in Mumbai was the former vice chancellor and an alumnus of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He did his B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from the M.S. University in 1988 and 1990, respectively. He did his Ph.D. on Post-Cold War International Systemic Transition and Indo-U.S. Relations in 1996 from the S.P. University at Vallabh Vidyanagar. In the year 2009, he worked as a member of the Governing Body (The Supreme Authority of the University) Charotar University of Sciences and Technology Changa, Member of the Committee constituted by His Excellency the Chancellor of the Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma (KSKV) Kutchh University (H.E. the Governor of Gujarat State) for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor of KSKV University and a Founder Coordinator of the Center for Excellence in Ethics in Politics and Public Administration, Funded by the Government of Gujarat. In 2008 he was a member of the Justice R. J. Shah (Red.) Fee Regulatory Committee, Gujarat State Board of Governors Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration Gujarat state, CII western Region Knowledge Ecosystem Committee Mumbai and member of the Committee constituted by His Excellency the Chancellor of the VNSG University (H.E. the Governor of Gujarat State) for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor of the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. He was invited to the United States of America by the U.S. Government for the study of the U.S. Foreign Policy under USIA’s International Visitors’ Program in1999 and in 1995 he was invited to the Center for the Study of American Culture and Language, Salzburg Seminar Salzburg, Austria. He has also served as the Academic Counselor at the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, Founder Hon. Director (2002-2004) at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Centre, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Hon. Director (1993-1994) at the Information Technology Center Anoopam Mission.nThe state government has re-appointed Manoj Soni as the vice chancellor of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University.
